Silverleaves & Surrounds

Overview

Silverleaves is a quiet suburb east of Cowes on the north side of Phillip Island.  This makes it a unique place on a unique island.

There are stunning natural surrounds with an old school feel to the area.  However due to its central location and proximity to Cowes everything on the island is only a short drive away.

Nature

Kookaburras and other abundant birdlife provides the background soundtrack of this beautiful natural environment.  Wallabies and echidnas are frequently spotted with dophins frequent visitors offshore.

Superb walks/bike rides around the suburb amongst the banksias and native flora at dawn or sunset amongst the banksias and native flora provide the perfect book ends of the day.

The more adventurous can take the stunning walks east along the beach to "the nits" and Rhyll inlet.

Beach

Being a north facing sandy beach, sheltered from the ocean swells, the Silverleaves beach provides a stunning place for a whole range of beach activities and water sports.  Perfect for families.

The surf beaches of the southern side of the island, some of the best to be found anywhere, are only a short drive away and there'll likley be an option no matter the wind direction.

Ventnor beach on the west of the island is great for walking dogs.

Food and drink

Anerie General (The Silverleaves Store) is a mere 150m from the house.  A licensed cafe/restaurant/general store it is well worth visiting for the latest on offer including eating, drinking and general basics.

Cowes is only 20 minutes walk (or quicker cycle) along the waterfront.  A wide range of eating and drinking places available for all tastes and budgets.

There's a cafe in the golf club (public wlecome) providing breakfast/lunch staples at good value.

Golf

The Phillip Island Golf Club is a short walk away.

The course is well looked after and has a great fun layout.  A good challenge but accessible for all standards in a relaxed atmosphere.

Visitors are very welcome - call the pro shop to book a tee time.
